The voting stage of the 2014 Sanlam Knysna Awards is now underway and everyone who lives or works within the greater Knysna area is urged to take part.
The Awards present a unique opportunity for local people to recognise and reward the achievements of enterprises, organisations and individuals who are making an outstanding contribution to our community.
No less than 92 nominations have been received in 12 categories. These are:
Best Community Leader, Best Eatery; Best Tourism Activity, Festival & Local Market, Best Tourism Establishment, Business Man of the Year, Business Woman of the Year, Charity Award, Proudly Knysna Award, Service Excellence Award, Small Business Award, Social Media & Online Award and Young Entrepreneur Award.
“An incredible cross-section of local businesses, charitable organisations and individuals have been nominated this year”, said Knysna Awards founder and organiser Pieter Cloete.
“We’re very encouraged by the huge response to this year’s call for nominations and thank everyone who has taken the time to bring the good work being done in Knysna to the public’s attention.
“We hope everyone in our community takes a few minutes to look at the list of nominees and find out more about the exciting products, excellent services and heart-warming local projects that make us proud,” he added.
Voting couldn’t be easier. Simply go to at www.knysnaawards.co.za to support the companies, individuals and organisations that you think deserve recognition. You can vote once for one nominee in each category. (Full terms & conditions are published on the Awards website.)
If you don’t have an email address, don’t worry. You can write a list of the nominees you’d like to vote for, adding your your full name, address and contact number. Place in a sealed envelope and drop it off (personally) at the Knysna FM studio in Woodmill Lane.
The last day to cast your votes is 17 October. After that, the three nominees with most votes in each category will be informed of their success and the eventual winners will be announced at a glittering gala awards dinner at the Simola Golf & Country Estate Hotel on 6 November 2014.
